This RUBYCON Electrolytic capacitor is ex prototyping equipment from quite some time ago, it has seen very little by way of “real life experience” i.e prolonged use
Rubycon electro’s are well known in the industry, often being a preferred choice for engineers and designers, particularly in power supplies.
They have very high ripple tolerance & can deal with higher temperatures well.
It is IMPORTANT to read my information page about both new AND old stock electrolytic capacitors … please go HERE
RUBYCON Electrolytic Capacitor
Designed & manufactured in Japan
CE (62W) SeriesType 203330
2200uF 35V
Expected MTBF 10,000 hours
Supplied with the mounting clamp
Solder terminals
DIMENSIONS:
35.4mm OD x 51mm height
TESTING:
Of course ANY old capacitor that has seen any sort of service must be tested …
Capacitance reading: 3350uF
ESR 0.8
Vloss 0.6%
While C tolerance is usually around 20%, this measured value appears a little high but after some “reforming” when in circuit, this value will most likely change.
The ESR reading is fine for linear power supplies as is the Vloss reading, indicating low leakage in particular.
A nice little cap for your next low voltage project power supply!
