These turntables are quite good, certainly not in the class of the broadcast decks such as the SP-10 or the much later 1200’s aimed at the DJ/Club market but a good “entry level” Technics deck
Much more sophisticated than the old “arms and levers” style of control for the arm, this turntable uses much fewer tonearm control mechanicals and has features such as auto record size detection using LED’s/photodetectors and wired remote control functions.
Originally retailed for around A$400 back in the early 1980’s

Technics SL-D33 Turntable SPARE PART ONLY (not complete)
Control & Drive Mainboard & associated components, including the turntable brushless DC motor fixed stator coils (12 pole) PLUS a lot of associated components.
For the sake of simplicity I am offering EVERYTHING mentioned or that you can see in the photographs
The photographs shows ALL that is included – if you cannot see something then it is not included.

NOT INCLUDED:
The tonearm was fitted at the time of the photograph – it is NOT included and has since been sold
Tonearm movement control system is not included
The platter is not included
The black front panel decal (with the control labelling) is not included – attempts to remove it failed!

In a nutshell I am offering the main board with the DC motor

Perfect component source for Technics SL-D33 turntable restoration or as a source of spare parts

I am offering these items, wherever possible the original wire wrapping has been left intact
PCB #U904HB SFDPD33-03 containing all components including the control chip MN1400 and the driver chips, motor stator, neon strobe lamp and front panel buttons etc
ALL external control button mechanisms with metallic tops are included EXCEPT the Power ON OFF button top which is with the AC power transformer on offer
+/- 10% speed adjustment control with knob
Record size LED module
Photosensor detector “pole”
All associated hardware such as button mechanicals, strobe prism and securing screws etc are included in a sealed bag

This is an old style single sided pcb, very easy to remove individual components if required, instead of dropping a complete new board.

To allow for separation from the AC power board, 3 wires were removed from the wire wrap posts. If re-installing this board, either buy a wire wrap tool (RS Electronics or Element 14) or just direct solder to the posts.
NO other wires have been cut or otherwise changed – exactly as the original wiring.
Prior to dismantling I tested the power rails and checked a few test points to ensure the board was operating correctly, no problems at all.
Full testing was not possible because the platter has gone “missing in action!”

The service manual (printed hardcopy 16 pages) is invaluable and will be supplied (if needed) – there is some “Jinglish” in the manual but it is pretty straightforward to work out what the Japanese mean!
The manual is very good from a technical viewpoint – block diagram, parts list, pcb layout (with component overlays and colour coding for the wiring) and a full circuit diagram including test point voltages and/or waveforms.
