Overview / Synopsis

Annie KIDS brings one of Broadways most beloved musicals to young performers in a fun and accessible 30-minute adaptation designed specifically for elementary and middle school theatre programs.

Based on Harold Grays classic Little Orphan Annie comic strip, this timeless musical follows Annie, a spirited young orphan living in New York City during the Great Depression. Life at the orphanage is difficult under the strict and often comical Miss Hannigan, but Annie never loses hope that her parents will someday return for her.

Everything changes when billionaire Oliver Warbucks invites Annie to spend Christmas at his mansion. As Annie and Warbucks grow closer, they discover friendship, family, and hope in unexpected ways. Along the journey, Annies treasured half-locket and dream of finding her parents lead to a citywide search that changes everyone involved.

Featuring iconic songs such as Tomorrow, Hard Knock Life, and You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, Annie KIDS gives schools a classic Broadway experience with memorable characters, flexible ensemble opportunities, and positive themes that continue to connect with audiences of all ages.
