Friends and Family: A Short Musical Play for Grades K-1

Celebrate the special people in our lives with Friends and Family: A Short Musical Play, a charming and easy-to-produce performance designed especially for young singers. Created by Roger Emerson as part of the popular K-1 4 Fun series, this delightful 15-minute program introduces beginning performers to singing, movement, and stage presentation through familiar melodies and age-appropriate activities.

Students will enjoy singing about moms and dads, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends while building confidence in front of an audience. Familiar tunes such as “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” “If You’re Happy and You Know It,” and “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” make learning quick and enjoyable, allowing teachers to prepare a successful performance with minimal rehearsal time.

Fun connecting raps between songs help maintain audience interest, and young performers will love adding personality to the production with simple props such as sunglasses during the rap segments.
