This premier method for the beginning classical guitarist, by one of the world’s pre-eminent virtuosos and the recognized heir to the legacy of Andrs Segovia, is now completely revised and updated!

An outstanding source for the technique and repertoire of the classical guitar, this book continues where Vol. 1 leaves off. It teaches: all notes in the upper position; tone production; advanced techniques such as tremolo, harmonics, vibrato, pizzicato and slurs; practice tips; stylistic interpretation; and more. The first half of the book deals primarily with technique, while the second half of the book applies the technique with repertoire pieces. As a special bonus, this book includes 32 previously unpublished Parkening edition pieces by composers including Dowland, Bach, Scarlatti, Sor, Tarreg and others, plus three guitar duets.

The book also includes optional access to online demonstration tracks for each study and exercise in the book. These recordings, which can be streamed or downloaded, are absolutely invaluable for when the student practisesat home. The audio is accessed online using the unique code inside each book and can be streamed or downloaded. The audio files include PLAYBACK+, a multi-functional audio player that allows you to slow down audio without changing pitch, set loop points, change keys, and pan left or right.
