Stringstastic – Mini Workbook Level 1 Violin Book

Ages 4-7 years

Mini 1 provides young students (ages 4-7) with a solid foundation in music theory through the eyes of a violin player.

These 2 mini books present music theory using fun exercises, colourful illustrations, and stickers for the exercises. Young players will derive much pleasure in learning music from these books.

The Mini 1 workbook features these concepts and more:

• INTRODUCTION Understanding the violin
• NOTATION Using the open strings as the main reference and all notes on the stave and each string, sharps
• PATTERNS Fingering on each string
• NOTE & REST VALUES Crotchet, minim, semibreve notes and rests (stem direction)
• TIME SIGNATURE Simple time 2/4 and 4/4 time

Lorraine Chai is a multi talented instrumentalist and educator who loves finding new and exciting ways for students to learn the violin. Along her musical journey and exposure to the various educational methods including Kodaly, Suzuki, Orff, Dalcroze, and Alexander Technique, Lorraine has found that she can integrate these various methods into her own teaching technique for the benefit of her students.
