Thomastik DP01 Dominant Pro E Volin String

Violin 4/4 vibrating string length 32.5cm | 12.8″

Since 1970, Dominant strings have been a staple in the violin world due to their versatility and tonal quality. The ‘Dominant Pro’ series expands on this legacy, offering a contemporary approach that builds on the strengths of the original Dominant strings.

Both Dominant and Dominant Pro share features like very low string tension, making them suitable for both new and older instruments without putting too much strain on them. They have great tuning stability, a wide range of tonal colours, and excellent bow response.

The ‘Dominant Pro E-string’ (DP01) is designed with a carbon steel core and tin-plated outer coating, which is reinforced by a protective nickel layer to enhance corrosion resistance. It balances warmth and brilliance, offering excellent response and sound projection even under high bow pressure, all while avoiding the screeching effect that can sometimes come with high-tension strings. This ensures a broad, radiant sound without putting undue strain on the instrument.

Available in 4/4 size and medium gauge, Dominant Pro strings are ideal for musicians seeking modern performance without sacrificing the rich, colourful sound of the classic Dominant strings.
