This piece, in simple triple time, is designed to teach students to plan their bow speeds with alternating fast and slow bow speeds. It is also useful for reinforcing slurs and the first two finger patterns used in string playing. It uses an attractive melodic line, which is shared around the ensemble. Tremolo and pizzicato are also featured. The piano part is not essential, but adds harmonic interest. (3:00) Grade 1.
