Antony Beaumont presents Zemlinsky’s Songs op. 2 in a critical edition for higher voice. Composed between 1895 and 1896 after Zemlinsky’s first opera Sarema, the works blend simplicity, playfulness, and emotional intensity. Texts by Goethe, Eichendorff, and contemporaries reflect the diversity of his early output. This edition corrects errors in previous prints, offering a clear, authentic access to Zemlinsky’s formative repertoire.
