The Thomastik Belcanto Orchestra for Double Bass strings are highly regarded among orchestra players, making them a top choice for those looking for a blend of focus and projection necessary in ensemble settings. These strings are celebrated for their smooth, dark, and warm sound that delivers beautiful clarity and excellent resonance.

They feature a wide range of tone colours, precise and powerful intonation, and abundant modulation across all ranges. Their unique steel rope core design allows them to settle in quickly and maintain extreme tuning stability. They are responsive to both bowing and pizzicato techniques, offering a quick bow response suitable for classical music and a natural feel for jazz.

The strings are also soft on the fingers, making them comfortable for players. Notably used by prominent bassists like Francho Petracchi and Odon Racz, these strings provide outstanding projection with only moderate effort, making them a preferred choice for professional players.
